Matt Campbell is one of the hottest names on the coaching carousel. As rumors begin to heat up regarding his future, Bruce Feldman joined FOX Big Noon Kickoff to give the latest news on the Iowa State coach’s future.

“Another guy to keep an eye this week is Iowa State’s Matt Campbell,” Feldman said on Saturday. “Remember, he’s a three-time Big 12 Coach of the Year. I’m told USC really likes him.”

Moreover, Feldman revealed that we could know Campbell’s decision sooner than later.

“Expect Matt Campbell to sort out where he wants to be in the coming days,” stated Feldman.

In the past, Campbell has been linked with many different coaching vacancies — even NFL teams like the New York Jets, Detroit Lions and Cleveland Browns showing interest. Still, the coach has remained in Ames — showing loyalty to the Iowa State football program.

However, the Cyclones didn’t reach their lofty goals this season. Still, the respect for what Campbell built the Iowa State program into has gained him immense respect across the nation.

Joel Klatt predicts the future for Matt Campbell

As the head coaching carousel turns, Joel Klatt is making predictions of who will end up at the biggest openings. With Florida, LSU and USC among the premium jobs open at this point, Klatt joined Colin Cowherd on The Herd, to predict who each of those three teams will hire as their next head coach.

For Florida, Klatt chose Louisiana coach Billy Napier. As for USC, Baylor’s Dave Aranda was Klatt’s choice. As for the future of the aforementioned Matt Campbell, Klatt predicted the Iowa State coach to end up in Baton Rouge — leading the LSU Tigers into battle in 2022.

Campbell would be a home-run hire for LSU. In 2016, Iowa State hired Campbell to become the head coach of the Cyclones. Campbell’s first year at Iowa State was a forgettable 3-9 year, but things have turned around tremendously since then.

Iowa State has seven wins in every year since, not including six wins on the current year. Campbell has led Iowa State to four consecutive bowl appearances.

Whether it’s LSU, USC or Florida, one thing is for sure — any program would be lucky to hire Matt Campbell as the coaching carousel continues.
