Florida State head coach Leonard Hamilton is set to be in Lexington, South Carolina. Today is the first day of the Fall live evaluation period, where coaches can visit high school players at their high schools. Lexington (SC) High is the home of On3’s No. 13 ranked player in 2024, Cam Scott.

It was quite the summer for the 6-foot-5 shooting guard. Scott was the leading scorer for one of the best 16u teams on the Nike EYBL Circuit, averaging 11.8 points and shooting 50.7 percent from the field in 15.4 minutes per game. Scott also led the NBPA Top 100 Camp in three-point shooting, knocking down 50 percent of his shots and winning a camp championship.

On3’s Industry Comparison Machine shows On3 is higher on Scott than the remainder of the industry as his industry-standard 2024 On3 Consensus ranking is No. 26.

Scott claims over 20 offers, as you would expect a top-15 ranked player. Scott will take his first official visit on October 1 to Florida State. He will follow that up with an October 22 official visit to South Carolina.

Scott was 5A All-State for the second time last season after averaging 21.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per game.

Scott’s scouting report

Cam Scott is a lengthy wing prospect with a lot of pop. The natural tools are very impressive all the way around. Scott has a mature game, plays within the flow of the offense, and rarely forces things. The jump shot release can be cleaned up, but the pull-up is smooth. Since the summer, Scott has developed his footwork and handle in the half-court, creating space to elevate into his jumper. Scott can take over a game and carry his team. I would like to see him develop the comfort to take a more aggressive alpha role on his teams. He is very efficient in his game, and his ability to score with a less is more approach is mature. Strength will come, and he is tracking as one of the top players in the 2024 class.
