Lindale (Texas) four-star interior offensive lineman Casey Poe announced his top eight schools on Thursday night. They are Clemson, Texas Tech, Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, Georgia, LSU and Oklahoma.

Poe is the No. 151 overall prospect and No. 9 interior offensive lineman in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 30 player in Texas.

On3 rates Poe higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2024 On300, he is the No. 34 overall prospect, No. 1 interior offensive lineman and No. 8 player in Texas.

The 6-foot-4.5, 285-pound recruit has visited some of his finalists this year. They include Oklahoma (Jan. 28), Texas Tech (April 1), Auburn (March 13), Alabama (April 15) and LSU (March 4).

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Sooners have a close lead for Poe’s commitment at 26.9%. He also visited Norman on Nov. 5 for Oklahoma’s game against Baylor.

Poe discusses his visits to Alabama and Auburn

The Crimson Tide are the program to most recently host Poe. According to the Lone Star State native, both head coach Nick Saban and offensive line coach Eric Wolford “really want me to come play for the Tide.”

“Coach Wolford is really excited to recruit me and is trying to get me to commit whenever I can,” Poe told On3’s Sam Spiegelman on April 17. “His coaching style is very cool and unique. Whenever he’s in the meeting room, he’s guiding his players to find the correct answers themselves instead of just giving it to them. He’s setting them up to be extremely successful at the next level. I feel like he’s a coach that can definitely prepare me to achieve my dreams and aspirations.”

“He thinks I would be a great fit for the program,” he added about Saban. “He knows how hard I work and how I am willing to do anything to get the job done. That’s the type of player he’s really looking for at Alabama. Just being able to meet him is an unreal feeling and it never ceases to be amazing.”

Regarding Auburn, Poe is being recruited by head coach Hugh Freeze and offensive line coach Jake Thornton. Little Rock (Ark.) Little Rock Christian Academy four-star quarterback and Tigers commit Walker White is another reason for his interest in the program.

“That dude is recruiting his butt off and it is very nice to know who will be playing behind me and who will be snapping the ball and leading our team,” Poe told Cole Pinkston of Auburn Live on April 17. “So, building a bond with that guy and starting to get to know some of the other recruits that are going down there, that’s made Auburn pretty likable. He’s doing a great job with what he’s doing. I know that’s what Coach Freeze has gotten him to do and he’s done a good job of it.”
