The Cleveland Browns have been plagued with injury and the team suffered yet another injury on Thursday Night Football. In the fourth quarter of Thursday’s game against the Denver Broncos, cornerback Denzel Ward went down, and was quickly ruled out for the game with a hamstring injury.

Ward, 24, looked to be shaken up and attempted to jog off the field before going down again. He exited for the locker room and was quickly ruled out. The Ohio State product recorded two tackles before exiting the game with injury. On the season, Denzel Ward has recorded 24 tackles and three passes deflected.

It’s yet another bad break for a Browns team that cannot afford many more. Cleveland entered Thursday’s game without quarterback Baker Mayfield, running backs Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt, along with offensive tackle Jack Conklin and linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koromoah, among others.

The Browns have also dealt with injuries to wide receiver Jarvis Landry, wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr, fullback Andy Janovich, linebacker Jacob Phillips, offensive tackle Jedrick Wills and more throughout the season.

Baker Mayfield is more injured than previously known. The fourth-year QB has not only a torn labrum in his left shoulder but also a fractured humerus.

Mayfield shared the news with Fox NFL Sunday host Jay Glazer on Thursday.

His injury likely calls for offseason surgery but his fracture could keep him off the field for more than just the Week 7 matchup versus Denver. A fracture can take up to three or four months to heal.

With Mayfield out against the Broncos, backup quarterback Case Keenum led the Browns offense. The Houston product threw for 192 yards and one touchdown late in the fourth quarter. Without Kareem Hunt and Nick Chubb, D’Ernest Johnson was the go-to running back, rushing for 120 yards and one touchdown behind the Browns offensive line.
