College Basketball Rankings: AP Poll Top 25 updated after Week 4

The latest college basketball AP Poll Top 25 rankings are here following Week 4 of the regular season! We got some more movement, as we should get every week!

Multiple neutral site MTEs headline the past week’s top results with the Players Era Festival and Maui Invitational dominating the narrative. From Michigan vs. Gonzaga to Tennessee vs. Houston, there have been dozens of impactful outcomes to consider.

Without further ado, let’s dive into the latest AP Poll top 25 rankings. We’ll start with the top team in college basketball.

1. Purdue

Purdue kept the good times rolling and stayed atop the AP Poll this week. The Boilermakers improved to 7-0 with a 109-62 win over Eastern Illinois on Black Friday.

Daniel Jacobsen had 24 points, nine rebounds and one assist in the win. Trey Kaufman-Renn added 14 points, six rebounds and two assists.

2. Arizona

Arizona improved to 7-0 on the season with a 98-61 win over Norfolk State Saturday. The Wildcats remained high up the AP Poll with another impressive win.

Motiejus Krivas had 20 points, nine rebounds and one assist in the win. Koa Peat added 16 points, four rebounds and four assists.

3. Michigan (+4)

Talk about vaulting up the AP Poll! Michigan dominated a previously ranked No. 12 Gonzaga 101-61. You read that right.

The 40-point win saw the Wolverines improve to 7-0 on the season. Yaxel Lendeborg put up 20 points, 11 rebounds and three assists.

4. Duke

Happy Thanksgiving Duke fans! The Blue Devils improved to 8-0 and stayed high up the AP Poll with an 80-71 win over a ranked Arkansas squad.

Cameron Boozer went off with 35 points, nine rebounds and three assists. Caleb Foster added 15 points, five rebounds and eight assists.

5. UConn

UConn won a ranked matchup with Illinois (then No. 13) on Black Friday. With the 74-61 win, the Huskies are now 6-1 on the young campaign, firmly within the top 10 of the AP Poll.

Solo Ball had 15 points and five rebounds in the win. Alex Karaban had 12 points, nine rebounds and five assists.

6. Louisville

Louisville went into the holiday weekend with a 104-47 win over NJIT last Wednesday. They also had an 87-46 win over Eastern Michigan two days prior.

Basically, it was a good warmup for the Cardinals as they get set to take on Arkansas on Wednesday. After that, they’ll head to Indiana.

7. Michigan State (+4)

A win over North Carolina propelled Michigan State into the AP Poll top 10 this week. The Spartans are now 7-0 on the season after giving UNC their first loss.

In the win, Jeremy Fears Jr. had 19 points, five rebounds and seven rebounds. Carson Cooper had 14 points, six rebounds and one assist.

8. Houston (-5)

Houston rebounded, no pun intended, from a loss to Tennessee last Tuesday. The Cougars beat Notre Dame 66-55 the very next day, finishing 2-1 last week (they also beat Syracuse).

In the win over Notre Dame Emanuel Sharp had 17 points, five rebounds and three assists. Milos Uzan had 15 points, five rebounds and three assists.

9. BYU

BYU stayed in the AP Poll top 10 with an 83-79 win over Dayton on Friday. Now at 6-1, the Cougars are feeling pretty good about the first third of the season.

Robert Wright led the way with 23 points, three rebounds and six assists. Richie Saunders led the team in scoring with 29 points, eight rebounds and two assists.

10. Iowa State (+5)

Iowa State is in the top 10 of the AP Poll this week, moving up five spots. The Cyclones are now 7-0 on the young season.

Iowa State beat St. John’s, Creighton and Syracuse last week. Going 3-0 against quality opponents always scores you good votes in this ranking!
