The USA TODAY Sports Men’s Basketball Coaches Poll has been refreshed following the fourth week of the season. Massive showdowns resulted in fascinating movement throughout the Top 25.

A flurry of statement wins came to fruition, with unbeaten powers like Michigan, Duke, Purdue and Michigan State all rolling through challenging matchups. As several programs gear up for heavyweight showdowns in the ACC/SEC Challenge and high-profile non-conference games, early résumés are materializing and separation is beginning to form at the top of the Coaches Poll.

With the action picking up across the country, the Coaches Poll Top 25 is certain to see plenty of movement as the season unfolds. For now, here’s how things stack up after Week 4. This week’s updated rankings are below.

1. Purdue

Purdue improved to 7–0 after blasting Eastern Illinois 109–62 on Friday, continuing its dominant start to the season. Senior guard Fletcher Loyer has been the engine, averaging 16.1 points and 2.4 rebounds while steadying the Boilermakers’ backcourt.

This week brings a major road test at Rutgers on Tuesday before a home matchup with Iowa State on Saturday. With momentum building and Loyer leading the charge, Purdue looks every bit like a top-tier contender.

2. Michigan (+4)

(Kirby Lee)

Michigan rolled through the Players Era Festival with dominant wins over San Diego State, Auburn, and Gonzaga to move to 7–0. Senior forward Yaxel Lendeborg continues to shine, averaging 16.0 points and 7.6 rebounds while anchoring the Wolverines on both ends.

Their lone matchup this week is a home date with Rutgers on Saturday. With momentum peaking and Lendeborg playing at an All-America level, Michigan looks firmly locked into the top tier.

3. Arizona

Arizona improved to 7–0 after convincing victories over Denver and Norfolk State, extending its early-season surge. Freshman phenom Koa Peat has been the standout, averaging 15.6 points and 5.7 rebounds while giving the Wildcats a versatile scoring presence.

The competition ramps up this week with a major home test against Auburn on Saturday. With Peat emerging quickly and the offense humming, Arizona remains one of the nation’s most explosive unbeaten teams.

4. Duke

Duke climbed to 8–0 after taking down Arkansas 80–71 in the CBS Sports Thanksgiving Classic. Freshman star Cameron Boozer continues to play at a staggering level, averaging 22.9 points and 9.8 rebounds to lead the Blue Devils.

This week brings Florida on Tuesday in the ACC/SEC Men’s Challenge before a marquee road showdown at Michigan State on Saturday. With Boozer powering everything, Duke looks every bit like a title contender.

UConn improved to 6–1 after a strong 13-point win over Illinois, reaffirming its top-tier profile. Junior guard Solo Ball leads the way at 14.3 points and 3.7 rebounds, providing steadiness in the backcourt.

This week features a massive road trip to Kansas on Tuesday before a Friday home matchup with East Texas A&M. The Huskies are rounding into form as Ball settles in as their offensive anchor.

6. Louisville (-1)

Louisville cruised to 7–0 with blowout wins over Eastern Michigan and NJIT, continuing one of the country’s biggest early-season turnarounds. Senior guard Ryan Conwell has been spectacular, averaging 20.1 points and 5.4 rebounds to spark the Cardinals.

They’ll hit the road for tough matchups at Arkansas on Wednesday and Indiana on Friday. With Conwell leading a confident rotation, Louisville enters the week looking to stay unbeaten against its toughest stretch yet.

7. Houston (-5)

Houston went 2–1 last week, beating Syracuse and Notre Dame while falling in a close battle to Tennessee. Emanuel Sharp remains the Cougars’ top threat, averaging 16.4 points and 3.6 rebounds in Kelvin Sampson’s system.

They’ll return home to face Florida State on Saturday in the Houston Hoops Showdown. At 7–1, Houston continues to show its toughness and depth against a demanding non-conference slate.

8. Michigan State (+4)

Michigan State moved to 7–0 after emphatic wins over East Carolina and North Carolina, showcasing its efficiency on both ends. Senior forward Jaxon Kohler has been MSU’s force in the paint, averaging 14.6 points and 9.7 rebounds per game.

The Spartans face two major challenges this week with Iowa on Tuesday and Duke on Saturday. With Kohler dominating inside, Michigan State enters a defining stretch with real momentum.

9. Iowa State (+4)

Iowa State is rolling into December with momentum. The Cyclones followed their nail-biter over St. John’s with back-to-back statement wins, hammering Creighton by 18 and dismantling Syracuse by 31.

At 7–0, they’re one of the country’s hottest teams and look every bit like a group finding its groove early. This week presents a breather-then-test setup: Alcorn State on Wednesday before a marquee showdown with Purdue on Saturday, as forward Joshua Jefferson averages 17.6 points, 7.9 rebounds and 5.0 assists.
