Each week, On3’s Matt Zenitz takes a look at some interesting stats coming out of that weekend’s games. Here are 13 such stats from Week 4.

2:47: Within two minutes, 47 seconds of game action, Oregon turned a 12-point fourth-quarter deficit into a 10-point lead during a 44-41 win over Washington State. The second of the three touchdowns during that span – a 50-yard pass from Bo Nix to Troy Franklin – gave the Ducks a 37-34 lead with 1:21 remaining. Oregon then scored on a pick-six 20 seconds later to seal the win.

4: Washington QB Michael Penix Jr. threw for 309 yards and two touchdowns during the Huskies’ 40-22 win over Stanford. Penix, a transfer from Indiana, is the first Washington quarterback since Cody Pickett in 2002 with four consecutive 300-yard passing games to start the season.

5: Clemson QB D.J. Uiagalelei racked up 371 passing yards and five passing TDs during a 51-45 overtime win over Wake Forest. Uiagalelei threw as many TD passes against Wake as he had total in his previous seven games against Power 5 opponents. It was also the fourth time in the past nine seasons that a Clemson quarterback threw for at least 370 yards with at least five touchdown passes in a / game. The other such occurrences: Trevor Lawrence (once in 2020) and Deshaun Watson (once in 2014 and once in 2015).

6: During Wake Forest’s loss to Clemson, Demon Deacons QB Sam Hartman tied an ACC single-game record with six touchdown passes. He became just the second ACC QB since 2012 with at least five TD passes in a game against Clemson. The other was Pitt’s Nathan Peterman in 2016.

11: USC has a nation’s-best 11 interceptions in its first four games, including four during a 17-14 win over Oregon State on Saturday.

14: SMU wide receiver Rashee Rice, who leads the nation with an average of 141.3 receiving yards per game, has a nation’s-best 14 receptions of at least 20 yards. Only nine other FBS wide receivers have more than seven.

43: In 15 games as Tennessee’s starting quarterback, Hendon Hooker has 43 more touchdowns than he does interceptions (45 total touchdowns compared to only two interceptions). In his most recent start, Hooker threw for 349 yards, ran for another 112 yards and accounted for three touchdowns with no interceptions in leading the Vols to a 38-33 win over Florida. 243: Michigan RB Blake Corum ran for 243 yards and two touchdowns on 30 carries during a 34-27 win over Maryland. It was the most yards from a Wolverines running back in a game since Tim Biakabutuka had 313 in 1995.
