Here are the On3 players of the week for Week 12 of the season. Each week, we pick a player of the week in each Power 5 conference as well as an overall Group of 5 player of the week. Everything being equal, more weight is given to big performances against “good” opponents.

ACC

WR Jordan Addison, Pitt
The buzz:
Pitt clinched the ACC Coastal Division title and a berth in the league title game with a 48-38 win over Virginia, and Addison played a huge part. He had 14 receptions for 202 yards and four TDs, including a 62-yarder with 2:10 left that sealed the win. Addison also had two TD receptions in the second period and one in the third. He now leads the nation with 15 TD receptions. The TD total is tied for the most in a game in school history, while the receptions total is third and the yardage total is sixth.

Big Ten

QB C.J. Stroud, Ohio State
The buzz:
In Ohio State’s 56-7 evisceration of Michigan State, Stroud tied a single-game school record with six TD passes — and he did it in the first half. For the game, he was 32-of-35 for 432 yards and the six TDs. He was 29-of-31 for 393 yards in the first half, and he ended each of the Buckeyes’ first six possessions with a touchdown pass; three came in the first quarter and three in the second. It was his fourth 400-yard game of the season and the fourth time he threw at least five TD passes in a game. The yardage total against the Spartans was the sixth-highest in a game in school history.

Big 12

Oklahoma State defense
The buzz:
Yes, we’re cheating by not picking one guy, but the unit was stifling in the Cowboys’ 23-0 win over Texas Tech; the victory clinched a spot for the Cowboys in the Big 12 title game. Texas Tech went into the game averaging 30.9 points and 440.9 yards in league games; the Red Raiders finished with zero points and 108 total yards. The Cowboys had five sacks, 13 tackles for loss, a fumble recovery and eight pass breakups. Texas Tech didn’t hit the 100-yard mark in total offense until its last drive of the game; the Red Raiders were at 84 yards until completing a 25-yard pass with a bit less than five minutes left. It was just their second game with less than 200 yards of offense since 2010 and only their fourth with less than 300 since 2011.

Pac-12

QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson, UCLA
The buzz:
Thompson-Robinson and the Bruins set a school record for most points against USC in a 62-33 romp past their crosstown rival. DTR accounted for six touchdowns; he threw for three and ran for one in the first half, then threw another TD pass in the third and scored on another un in the fourth. He was 16-of-22 for 349 yards and the four TDs through the air, and he added 46 yards and the two touchdowns on the ground. UCLA finished with 609 total yards and 30 first downs, and averaged 9.2 yards per play.

SEC

QB Bryce Young, Alabama
The buzz:
Young needed to be on point because Arkansas’ offense had success against the Tide defense, and he was. He was 31-of-40 for a school-record 559 yards and five touchdowns in a 42-35 win over the Hogs. Young threw three TD passes in the first half, then added one in the third quarter and one in the fourth. It was his second consecutive game and third this season with five TD passes. The yardage total was a season-high by 188 yards. Young now is tied for second nationally with 38 touchdown passes.

Group of 5

QB Desmond Ridder, Cincinnati
The buzz:
It was “Senior Day” at Cincinnati, and Ridder made himself a memory. He was 17-of-23 for 274 yards and three TDs, rushed three times for 46 yards and another score, and also caught a 5-yard TD pass in the unbeaten Bearcats’ 48-14 rout of SMU. How good a day did he and Cincinnati have? On the Bearcats’ first play from scrimmage, Ridder threw a 53-yard TD pass. He threw one TD pass in the second quarter and another in the third, scored on a 40-yard run in the second quarter and caught the TD pass in the third period.
