Coming off the first College Football Playoff rankings last week, each team across the country got the first glimpse at what they needed to do the rest of the way. The weekend of results provide an updated look at the College Football Playoff Top 25 and which teams have a path toward the 12-team CFP bracket at the conclusion of the regular season.

The four conference champions from the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12 and SEC, along with the highest ranked conference champion from the Group of Five are guaranteed a spot in the field, but not a first-round bye. The remaining seven bids will be filled by seven at-large qualifiers who can be slotted according to their ranking.

A slight shift from last seasons format, this brings added clarity to the process throughout the season and ensures the top teams will benefit from their resume. Those who finish between 5-12 will participate in the first round, hosted by the higher seed before subsequent rounds are played at traditional bowl sites.

Through 11 weeks of results, here is how the selection committee ranked the Top 25 teams with a chance to earn their spot in the upcoming 12-team College Football Playoff. As the resumes continue to shift, the rankings will reflect the latest landscape.

1. Ohio State

Ohio State maintains an undefeated record in the College Football Playoff rankings, solidly placing them above the field once again. The Buckeyes continue to roll behind the consistent approach of Ryan Day and a win against Purdue further backs that up.

Upcoming schedule: UCLA, Rutgers, at Michigan

2. Indiana

Indiana faced its toughest challenge of the season from an unlikely source this weekend, going down to the final play against Penn State. As Curt Cignetti and his team survive the adversity, they remain in prime position to compete atop the sport.

Upcoming schedule: Wisconsin, at Purdue

3. Texas A&M

Texas A&M controls their own destiny within the SEC as the only undefeated team left in the conference. Mike Elko has things rolling for a program which has overcome multiple tests already this season and dismissed any concerns against Missouri.

Upcoming schedule: South Carolina, Samford, at Texas

4. Alabama

Alabama picked up another SEC win to build its resume this weekend, taking care of business against LSU without major trouble. Kalen DeBoer appears to have the offense rolling with solid defense behind it as the postseason approaches.

Upcoming schedule: Oklahoma, Eastern Illinois, at Auburn

5. Georgia

Georgia continued to put together its College Football Playoff resume with a dominant win against Mississippi State this weekend. Outside of one loss, Kirby Smart’s group appears headed in the right direction as they move toward the postseason.

Upcoming schedule: Texas, Charlotte, at Georgia Tech

6. Texas Tech

Texas Tech firmly planted themselves atop the list of Big 12 contenders with a convincing win against BYU this weekend. With more chances for Joey McGuire’s team to solidify their resume, they are in control of the CFP route.

Upcoming schedule: UCF, at West Virginia

7. Ole Miss

Ole Miss has picked up some important wins this season, with the only loss to this point coming against Georgia. Lane Kiffin’s team handled business against The Citadel and still faces a manageable finish to the regular season which puts them in prime position.

Upcoming schedule: Florida, at Mississippi State

8. Oregon

Oregon took its game against Iowa down to the wire, picking up an important win in less-than-ideal weather conditions. Dan Lanning and his group still fit the mold of a College Football Playoff team with their list of wins and only one quality loss on the resume.

Upcoming schedule: Minnesota, USC, at Washington

9. Notre Dame

Notre Dame continues a strong run through the back of the regular season, making up ground after two early losses. Marcus Freeman’s group took care of business this week with a comfortable win against Navy to set up a run toward the finish.

Upcoming schedule: at Pittsburgh, Syracuse, at Stanford

10. Texas

Texas has faced its ups and downs, taking two losses to this point before a bye last week, but has enough good wins on the resume to impress. The path for Steve Sarkisian’s group remains narrow given the record, but there is still a clear path if they can pick up wins.

Upcoming schedule: at Georgia, Arkansas, Texas A&M

11. Oklahoma

Oklahoma remains at two losses coming off a bye week, but has the wins needed under its belt to remain a College Football Playoff contender. Brent Venables has plenty left to do this season to remain inside the picture with a runway to accomplish it.

Upcoming schedule: at Alabama, Missouri, LSU

12. BYU

BYU suffered a setback to their College Football Playoff resume this weekend with a loss against Big 12 foe Texas Tech. Kalani Sitake and team previously held the top spot in the conference, but will now have to work their way back into the mix.

Upcoming schedule: TCU, at Cincinnati, UCF
