College GameDay: Picks for Week 8
College GameDay woke up bright and early this morning, heading west for a Pac-12 matchup between the No. 10 Oregon Ducks and the UCLA Bruins. As the sun was rising, Lee Corso’s hot-takes were scorching. Moreover, storylines regarding Chip Kelly facing his former school were running rampant.
With a great crowd on-hand prior to a matchup with the Pac-12’s College Football Playoff chances hanging in the balance, the College GameDay crew made their selections for Saturday’s games. Additionally, ESPN’s own and former UCLA great Bill Walton joined the fun as the guest picker.
Famed for his eccentric style in broadcasting the best Pac-12 basketball games, Walton brings his zaniness to the set. Big game energy was palpable, and the excitement of a fun match-up was unmistakable. With the anticipation reaching its zenith, Desmond Howard, Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit made their picks for an exciting Saturday slate.

Oregon at UCLA: “I got UCLA today over the Oregon Ducks, because of DTR (Dorian Thompson-Robinson),” stated Howard — picking the Bruins.
“This crowd is fired up, the Rose Bowl will be rocking .. I’m going with UCLA!” exclaimed Walton.
“It’s no secret the Oregon Ducks is my favorite, I even got his book! But this is strictly business .. give me that head!” Corso stated as he grabbed the UCLA Bruins mascot head. Everyone is on the Bruins today.
USC at Notre Dame: “I’m going with USC,” said Walton, much to the dismay of the crowd. The eccentric guest picker is the only one riding with the Trojans.
Utah at Oregon State: “They’re very good and they’re very physical — whoever’s still standing in the end will win,” stated Herbstreit. Everyone is on the Utah Utes.
Oklahoma State at Iowa State: “What happens is when there’s all those Oklahoma States, they lose,” stated Herbstreit. It didn’t deter Herbstreit, as everyone is on the Cowboys today.
LSU at Ole Miss: “Ole Miss — too much Matt Corral,” said Corso. Addtionally, Herbstreit agrees — while Howard and Walton are picking LSU.
BYU at Washington State: Howard started off the selections with BYU, but everyone else is on Washington State.
Ohio State at Indiana: “This is a ‘you forgot about us tour,’ so I love the Buckeyes,” stated Howard. Not surprisingly, everyone is picking the Buckeyes.
Tennessee at Alabama: Today’s not the day for an upset — everyone is picking the Crimson Tide.
Clemson at Pittsburgh: “I’m going Pitt big over Clemson,” stated Howard. Imagine this prior to the season — everyone is picking Pittsburgh.
Wake Forest at Army: “Wake Forest! Come on man, Tim Duncan .. Chris Paul!” said Walton. It’s not basketball, but only Herbstreit picked against the Demon Deacons.
San Diego State at Air Force: “I got San Diego State and that defense,” said Herbstreit. Walton is going with the Aztecs, while Howard and Corso are on Air Force.
