Live from Austin, Texas, College GameDay on ESPN had one of their most anticipated shows of the season on Saturday.

Ahead of Alabama taking their championship hopes on the road to face Texas, the crew debated if the Longhorns could upset the Crimson Tide. Lee Corso got the crowd fired up early on by laying a smooch on a Texas helmet, but would he be bold enough to roll with the Longhorns? That’s the question a raucous crowd wondered for the better part of three hours.

In addition to the hype behind Alabama and Texas facing off, there was a bevy of huge showdowns to predict, as well.

First, Tennessee travels to Pittsburgh to take on the Panthers, a game that could be the most exciting of a loaded Week 2. The quarterback matchup between the Volunteers’ Hendon Hooker and the Pittsburgh’s Kedon Slovis could lead to an offensive onslaught, keeping eyes glued to the television.

Additionally, a gigantic SEC showdown between Kentucky and Florida could have gigantic ramifications for the conference. However, it could also have a great effect on the 2023 NFL Draft — Wildcats quarterback Will Levis and Gators signal caller Anthony Richardson are battling it out to see who gets drafted first next April.

Finally, USC is looking for revenge on Stanford after the Cardinal upended their season in 2021. There are plenty of old faces in new places for the Trojans, and they’ll have their biggest test to date in David Shaw’s squad.

As you can see, there’s plenty of fascinating storylines to follow for Saturday’s slate of games. Here’s who the College GameDay crew predicted to find victories, as they make their stamp on Week 2.

College GameDay picks for Week 2:

Alabama at Texas: Glen Powell couldn’t go against his Longhorns, picking Texas to upset Alabama while donning a mullet wig. However, the rest of the College GameDay crew believes the Crimson Tide leave victorious, as Corso pulled the Alabama mascot head out from under the table to make his pick.

Baylor at BYU: Corso is the lone dissenter riding with the Cougars, as the rest of the crew is on Baylor.

Kentucky at Florida: Only Herbstreit believes Mark Stoops and company will get the win.

Duke at Northwestern: Northwestern is the pick from the College GameDay crew.

South Carolina at Arkansas: Nobody believes Spencer Rattler will upset the Razorbacks on the set.

Tennessee at Pittsburgh: In his first day as a full time member of the College GameDay crew, McAfee goes against the grain, the lone picker of the Panthers.

Wake Forest at Vanderbilt: Everyone is on the Demon Deacons with Sam Hartman back in the fold.

USC at Stanford: There’ll be no upset of the Trojans, as the crew is riding with Lincoln Riley.

Iowa State at Iowa: While offense was tough to come by for the Hawkeyes last week, only Howard has the Cyclones getting the victory.

Arizona State at Oklahoma State: Everyone is on the Cowboys.

Houston at Texas Tech: Howard and McAfee are on Houston, but the rest of the crew are rocking with the Red Raiders.

Missouri at Kansas State: The entire crew is on the Wildcats.
