Schedule, TV information announced for opening games of College World Series
Heading into Monday night, six teams had clinched their spots in the College World Series. Two separate Super Regional Game 3s were set to take place, with the field in Omaha nearly being set. Even so, game times and TV information has been released by the NCAA.
Action at Charles Schwab Field will kick off on Friday, with the first pitch of the event taking place at 2 p.m. ET. Back-to-back days of baseball are on the cards, with the bottom half of the bracket stepping onto the field first.
Friday, June 16
Game 1 – Oral Roberts vs. TCU, 2 p.m. ET on ESPN
Game 2 – Virginia vs. Florida, 7 p.m. ET on ESPN
Saturday, June 17
Game 3 – Stanford/Texas vs. Wake Forest, 2 p.m. ET on ESPN
Game 4 – Southern Miss/Tennessee vs. LSU, 7 p.m. ET on ESPN
Of the four, the potential LSU-Tennessee matchup has to be the most high-profile. Two of the SEC’s best teams during the regular season, it would serve as a rematch of a weekend series that took place in Baton Rouge. The Tigers took two out of three in what was great baseball at Alex Box Stadium.
Four-seed Oral Roberts will gain a ton of attention as well. An opening game against TCU will be a tough one though, as the Horned Frogs are one of the hottest teams remaining.

Florida against Virginia is the other known matchup as of now. Two nationally ranked teams will face off against one another and it’s possible the winner will be favored to make the championship series. An incredible way to kick things off in primetime at the College World Series.
College World Series set to begin following exciting Super Regional Game 3 matchups
Before putting 100% focus into the College World Series, the Super Regional matchups must conclude. And on Monday, two thrilling ones are expected to take place, with Stanford hosting Texas and Southern Miss welcoming Tennessee back. It’s a simple concept — the winner advances to Omaha while the other will see their season end in heartbreaking fashion.
Once those two games are completed, the field of eight will officially be set. From there, the speculation and predictions on who will be dog-piling to celebrating a national championship will be on. A ton of baseball is out there to be played but we are nearing the end of the 2023 season.
