On3 Consensus four-star safety Elliot Washington of Venice (Fla.) High revealed an updated top-five list on Wednesday.

The 5-foot-11, 187-pound Washington said his top five schools are Alabama, Ohio State, Penn State, Georgia and Michigan State. He has offers from all of those schools, along with more than 15 other schools. He released the list of favorites on his social media account.

Elliot Washington is ranked as the No. 149 player in the country, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 13 safety and the 31st ranked player in Florida in the On3 Consensus.

On3 ranks Elliot Washington slightly higher. He’s the No. 138 player in the country and the 28th best player in Florida, according to On3.

Elliot Washington can play multiple spots

Elliot Washington has football in his family. His father, Elliot Washington Sr., began his career at Manatee Community College before transferring to Alabama. He subsequently played the 1991-1992 and 1992-1993 seasons for the Crimson Tide.

Coaches love Washington’s versatility and the ability to play in a number of different spots in the secondary.

“I’m being recruited to play cornerback – outside or inside at nickel – and safety as well,” Washington told On3’s Lettermen Row earlier this fall. “I’m versatile to play all spots in the secondary with my size and speed. Nothing is specified as of yet. I’m [a 2023 recruit], so I would like to have more talk with the coaches to see their vision for me.

“Being able to play multiple spots, with my size and speed, should help with contributing early.”

Elliot Washington does not have a decision timeline yet, but he says he hopes to make official visits beginning in the spring, so we likely won’t see movement until then at the earliest. He is looking at setting up official visits to the top schools on his list. He’s visited a number of his favorites for games this fall.
