The Baltimore Ravens agreed to contract terms with rookie safety Kyle Hamilton on Tuesday, the team announced. The four-year deal is reportedly worth a fully guaranteed $16.255 million with a singing bonus of $9.002 million and a fifth-year club option.

A Notre Dame product, Hamilton was selected 14th overall in the 2022 NFL Draft this past April. He finished his career in South Bend with 138 tackles, eight interceptions and 16 passes defended. The star safety suffered a knee injury this past season that caused him to miss the final six games of the season, including the Fiesta Bowl. He still managed to record 34 tackles, three interceptions and four passes defended across only seven games.

A former four-star plus recruit in the class of 2019, Hamilton was the No. 62 overall player in the nation per the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average. The Atlanta, Georgia, native also ranked as the No. 6 safety and No. 9 player in his home state after playing at Marist School.

With his new contract now set, Kyle Hamilton will get to work integrating himself into the Ravens roster. Fans will get their first chance to see him in action when Baltimore opens preseason play on Aug. 11 against the Titans.

Kyle Hamilton impressing at Ravens OTAs

Former Notre Dame safety Kyle Hamilton seems to have had one of the better NFL rookie months in recent memory after being taken No. 14 overall by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2022 NFL Draft. In addition to receiving rave reviews from nearly all draft experts, Hamilton has continued to impress during the Ravens’ rookie minicamp and organized team activities (OTAs).

“Hamilton absolutely looks like someone who belongs on an NFL field and who is ready to make an immediate impact in this league,” said Garrett Downing, the Ravens director of social media and host for video content. “He moves well, and his instincts are excellent.”

Downing added Hamilton’s soft hands have been impressive, as he sails through defensive back pass-catching drills with few hiccups.

Additionally, defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald said last week that “Kyle is as good as advertised.”

“He’s doing the things that we expect him to do,” Macdonald said, adding that all rookies make mistakes, but Hamilton’s ability to correct said mistakes while learning an entirely new playbook has been excellent.

Macdonald should have one of the most versatile defensive back rooms in the NFL heading into the 2022 season, and Hamilton is up there as one of the reasons why.
