The full lineup for the 2023 Big 12/SEC Challenge will feature several familiar rivalries along with two future SEC conference matchups with the flip of Oklahoma and Texas on the horizon. According to ESPN PR, the two conferences have finalized the cross-conference matchups while will break up the conference schedule on January 28, 2023, with games spread across multiple networks.

Each of the 10 games will be played at the home arena of one of the schools, split five and five between each conference. Because conference standings serve as the primary determination in the matchups, many teams have faced off several times in this event over the year, with Kansas and Kentucky regularly exchanging visits.

The SEC has now claimed the last two events after a tie in 2020. The series started in the 2013-14 season and got under way with a three-year win streak for the Big 12, however, they have only won once since then in 2019. Despite that, the Big 12 still holds a 48-41 all-time lead in the series thanks to the two widest margins in the history.

Because there are only 10 teams in the Big 12 at this time, all of its members participate while four SEC schools are excluded. Those teams which did not qualify – Georgia, South Carolina, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt this season – play a separate series against the top teams from the American.
