With just a couple of weeks remaining before the regular season comes to an end, many teams vying to make the NCAA Tournament are making their final push. That was on display this weekend, as multiple highly ranked teams suffered upsets. Those results have had major impacts on the latest D1Baseball Top 25 rankings.

A new No. 1 team has emerged, as Wake Forest, who won two out of three against No. 19 Boston College, takes over the top spot. This comes after previous No. 1 LSU dropped two out of three at Auburn. Three other top five teams lost their series this weekend, all coming from the SEC. No. 3 South Carolina suffered a sweep at Kentucky, while No. 4 Florida dropped two out of three at Texas A&M and No. 5 Vanderbilt lost twice at Alabama.

No. 17 Oregon was the next highest ranked team to fall, going 1-2 at USC. No. 18 Tennessee also lost, dropping two games at Georgia. No. 7 Stanford took on No. 20 Arizona State in an important Pac-12 matchup, and the Cardinal cruised to a three-game series sweep.

No. 24 Cal State Fullerton also lost two out of three at TCU, while No. 25 Northeastern dropped two games at UNC Wilmington.

Overall, ten out of last week’s 25 ranked teams lost their series over the weekend. Just two top 25 matchups played into those results, shaking up this week’s top 25 rankings from D1Baseball.
