The past couple of weekends have been filled with chaos across college baseball, and this week brought even more upsets. Following the weekend of action, D1Baseball has released updated top 25 rankings with some interesting changes.

Four series over the weekend were between two ranked teams. Overall, seven top 25 clubs lost their respective weekend series, some in very surprising fashion. Arguably none were more surprising than No. 3 South Carolina losing two out of three against Auburn.

The rest of the top ten was safe, though teams ranked just outside of the top ten weren’t as lucky. No. 9 Campbell played just two games this week with no weekend series, and they lost both. But as far as weekend series go, No. 11 Boston College was the next highest ranked team to fall, losing two out of three against a surging Clemson team. No. 13 Virginia lost twice at home against No. 20 Duke as well.

No. 14 Texas Tech was off during the midweek, but was only able to win once over the weekend at Kansas State. No. 5 Vanderbilt and No. 15 Kentucky battled in an important SEC matchup, and it was the Commodores that came away with a weekend sweep. The Wildcats also lost during the midweek to No. 21 Louisville, completing an 0-4 week.

No. 17 Arizona State went 2-3 on the week, and the 1-2 weekend record was a tough pill to swallow at No. 23 Oregon. The final ranked team to lose over the weekend was No. 21 Louisville, who couldn’t carry over the momentum from their midweek win over Kentucky. The Cardinals battled against No. 16 Miami, losing two out of three.
