Connor Williams became one of three Dallas Cowboys players to be slapped with a fine after last weekend’s victory over the New England Patriots.

Williams will owe $16,394 for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty with 0:37 left in the fourth quarter, per Ian Rapoport. The action took place on a second-and-10 incomplete pass while Dallas was trailing 29-26. It ultimately did not matter, as the Cowboys converted on the following third-and-25 play, setting up the game-tying field goal. But it could have been costly.

The Cowboys won 35-29 in overtime.

The 6-foot-5, 315-pound guard was a second-round draft pick out of Texas in 2018. A Texas a native, he has spent the duration of his career with the Cowboys. He has played in 46 games over three and a half years.

Lamb, Diggs also fined against Patriots

Defensive back Trevon Diggs and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb were also fined for penalties in Foxboro.

After scoring the game-winning touchdown, Lamb was hit by Patriots defensive back Jalen Mills. Afterwards, Lamb let Mills know about it — smiling and waving goodbye as the game ended.

“The NFL fined Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb $10,300 for unsportsmanlike conduct – waving goodbye at Patriots DB Jalen Mills after Lamb’s winning TD last week,” tweeted NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

It’s a small price to pay for a moment that’ll live in Cowboys lure if Lamb continues his tremendous play. His performance against New England was the latest in his fantastic season — catching nine passes for 149 yards and two touchdowns. He is the Cowboys leading receiver with 33 receptions for 497 yards and four scores this season.

Diggs was fined $7,981 for an unnecessary roughness penalty where he slapped a Patriots player in his face-mask. The former wide receiver leads the NFL in interceptions with seven, nearly double that of the second-place player. Cincinnati’s Logan Wilson is second with four.

Dallas is the most penalized team in the NFL this season with 59 total flags through six games. Their divisional counterpart Philadelphia Eagles are right behind them with 58.

The Cowboys have the weekend off this week before facing the Minnesota Vikings on Halloween as next week’s Sunday Night Football game. At 5-1, they sit firmly in control of a floundering NFC East.
