Free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. took a few trips across the NFL, looking to add another Super Bowl ring to his collection. None got as much hype as the one to Dallas, with the Cowboys pulling out all the stops to land Beckham.

Lost in the hype is the ACL injury Beckham suffered in February with the Los Angeles Rams. Dallas is reportedly not confident he will be able to significantly contribute until mid-January and possibly bleeding into the playoffs.

Star linebacker Micah Parsons shared a similar timeline after spending the weekend with Beckham. Five weeks was the number given, which would line up to be the Wednesday before the Wild Card Round of the NFL Playoffs.

Beckham has since left Dallas, where no offer was reportedly made by the Cowboys. With the injury timeline, there should be no rush to sign the wide receiver.

Of course, there are still other options as well. The Buffalo Bills and New York Giants are being considered as landing spots. Beckham has history with the latter, originally being drafted by the franchise. As to what’s appealing about the Bills, Josh Allen and the high-powered offense speak for themselves.

Dallas will push playing alongside the likes of CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup in the league’s top offense since Dak Prescott returned to injury.

Many have thought Beckham is on a recruiting tour similar to what someone would take in college. Parsons said this process has been a lot more cut and dry, with Beckham knowing exactly what he would get out of the Cowboys.

“Obviously he knows we want him, but really just wanted to make him feel at home,” Parsons said via Jon Machota of The Athletic. “There’s only so much you can say…This ain’t college, like you’re saying you’re gonna get the best education. I’m pretty sure he knows what we got here.”

Beckham arrived in the Dallas-Fort Worth area on Wednesday, first visiting The Star in Frisco. There, he met with multiple people associated with the Cowboys organization. People such as Jerry Jones, Mike McCarthy, and Prescott have all commented on bringing Beckham to Dallas.

On Monday night, Beckham was accompanied by Parsons and cornerback Trevon Diggs at the American Airlines Center, as the Dallas Mavericks took on the Phoenix Suns.
