Dan Mullen picks seven of the biggest Week 12 games, including two shocking upsets

Former Florida coach and current ESPN analyst Dan Mullen has locked in his picks for the Week 12 slate of games and has a few eye-popping results. Bedlam, anyone?

Mullen went 3-5 with his picks last week. He was stung by a few upsets — Illinois being toppled by Purdue, for instance — but also had some debatable picks bite him, like Texas over TCU or Baylor over Kansas State.

This week, Mullen is only picking seven games and only has two upsets slated, at least as far as the College Football Playoff rankings are concerned. The biggest one is comfortably picking an Oklahoma team that has lost its way under Brent Venables to top an Oklahoma State team, albeit a reeling one, that has shown to be much, much better.

Check out the full docket of Mullen picks, which he shared on Twitter, too.

Dan Mullen’s Week 12 picks

Mullen picking Oklahoma to pull the upset in Bedlam is quite a shot to take, but admittedly not all that wild when you consider the history. Oklahoma dominates the rivalry. Everything on the field this year points to that not mattering, but it is Bedlam after all — and for one of the last times for a long time, too.

The other big one Mullen picked this week: UCLA toppling USC and likely ending the playoff hopes of the Pac 12 in the process with a win in Westwood. USC is the only one-loss team remaining in the Pac 12 and has the only realistic path to the playoff. A loss to the Bruins would likely be disqualifying, hanging the Trojans with two losses as they would likely jockey with one-loss teams for a spot.
