Quarterbacks get a lot of love in college football, leading their team to victories down the stretch of the 2022 season. But ESPN analyst Dan Mullen decided he wanted to spotlight some non-quarterback performers in Week 11, looking mainly at skill position players on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball.

Six players in total received a shoutout from the former Florida and Mississippi State head coach. You can check out his full list here.

Top Week 11 performers according to Dan Mullen

Harold Perkins Jr.LSU linebacker

Arguably the best player in the country this past week regardless of position, Perkins single handily will LSU to a win against Arkansas. He recorded eight tackles and four sacks on the stat sheet but did so much more for the Tigers. Only a true freshman, head coach Brian Kelly has a special player on hand with Perkins.

Carlton MartialTroy linebacker

Some more defensive love from an offensive coach like Mullen, as Martial recorded 22 tackles against Army. Defending the triple option is never easy, especially when it’s not on an annual basis. While the entire Troy defense had to step about against the Black Knights, Martial had the biggest impact.

Josh DownsNorth Carolina wide receiver

Drake Maye has been receiving a ton of praise and rightfully so. But it’s been Downs on the end of a lot of the quarterback’s passes as the two put together a solid Week 11 performance against Wake Forest. Downs caught 11 passes for 154 yards and three touchdowns, moving him closer to the 1,000-yard mark on the season.

Kamren KinchensMiami safety

Miami is back to winning ways and their defensive performance deserves a lot of credit. Kinchens was the one who stands out to Mullen the most, forcing three turnovers against Georgia Tech. All were interceptions, including one being sent back the other way for a touchdown. Kinchens is now up to six INTs in his career.

Mohamed IbrahimMinnesota running back

He’s been well known in the Big Ten for some time now but due to injury, there has not been a breakout on the national scene. Fully healthy coming down the stretch of the 2022 season, Ibrahim is getting recognized by Mullen. Ibrahim went for 178 yards and three touchdowns vs. Northwestern on 36 carries as Minnesota continues to push for the Big Ten West.

Eric JohnsonLehigh wide receiver

The only FCS player to be named, Lehigh got their second win of the season against Colgate on Saturday. Johnson was the star of the show, having over 200 receiving yards on just 11 catches. He also got into the end zone for his team-leading fourth touchdown of the season.
