After Odell Beckham tweeted Saturday evening that Deebo Samuel was to be traded to the New England Patriots, the San Francisco 49ers receiver responded. In a tweet of his own, Samuel seemed to insinuate that Beckham was spreading false information, writing “at this point bruh bored.”

Whether or not he lands with the Patriots, Samuel could still soon be on his way out of San Francisco. Amidst a contract dispute between the 49ers and their star receiver, reports have emerged that Samuel requested a trade. Even then, the receiver appeared to suggest on his social media that was not the case.

“Reporters jobs is to make stories only people know the truth about situation is 49ers @ToryDandy and Deebo Samuel,” wrote Samuel via Twitter.

Odell Beckham responded to the second tweet from Deebo Samuel, apologizing for getting involved. However, he also didn’t back down on his original claim, saying the news will come out eventually.

“To Twitter world ! I’m so sorrry,” Beckham wrote followed by two crying emojis. “I Love (Deebo Samuel) and giving him hell problem causing more problems! I can’t help it ! Deeebo news gon break on its own.”

Samuel had a breakout year this past season with the 49ers, earning both his first Pro Bowl appearance and All-Pro selection. In addition to his role as a receiver, the third-year player also lined up in the backfield roughly 11% of the time. He went on to finish the season with eight rushing touchdowns, the most in NFL history from a receiver. In a must-win Week 18 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams, Samuel threw a 24-yard touchdown pass, ran for a 16-yard touchdown, and totaled 164 yards.

The receiver ended the season with a total of 1,770 yards from scrimmage in addition to 15 total touchdowns. He helped lead San Francisco to the NFC Championship, where it fell to eventual Super Bowl champ the Los Angeles Rams.

Whatever team Samuel starts the 2022 season on, it’s clear he will continue to be one of the league’s best.
