Pahokee (Fla.) four-star edge DeeJay Holmes announced his top five schools on Friday night. They are Louisville, Maryland, Ole Miss, UCF and Western Kentucky.

Holmes is the No. 670 overall prospect and No. 60 EDGE in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also a three-star recruit and the No. 110 player in Florida.

On3 rates Holmes higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2023 On300, Holmes is a four-star recruit, the No. 300 overall prospect, No. 36 EDGE and No. 58 player in Florida.

Only two of Holmes’ finalists have gotten a visit from the 6-foot-2, 235-pound prospect. He has made two visits to UCF, including an official on June 10, and one unofficial visit to Louisville on Oct. 29.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Knights are leading for his commitment at 48.5%. The Cardinals have the next-best chance of his top five schools at 9.8%.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

Holmes has an On3 NIL Valuation of $5.9K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

DeeJay Holmes On3 Scouting Summary

The following is the On3 Scouting Summary for DeeJay Holmes:

“Ultra-productive edge rusher for state regional finalists Pahokee (FL) whose get off is unmatched by almost anyone in the country. Totaled 92 tackles and made an absurd number of plays behind the line of scrimmage with 25.5 tackles for loss and 19.5 sacks as a junior. Insane first step off the line of scrimmage. Convert speed to power with ease. Not scared to bull rush despite lack of ideal size and length. Solid against the run, better chaser than stuffer.

“Needs to develop hand usage and pass rush arsenal. Frame is more of an off-ball backer build but can still be effective off the edge at the college level. Late-round NFL projection due to size but has all the athletic ability in the world to be a terror at the college level.”
