Brothers Desmond Cambridge and Devan Cambridge, who recently entered the NCAA Transfer Portal together with intentions of transferring to the same school, announced they will be teaming up next season at Arizona State, they have told On3’s Joe Tipton.

Devan, a 6-foot-6, 215-pound forward, just finished up his junior season with the Auburn Tigers, and he arrives at Arizona State with two more years of eligibility. Desmond, by comparison, is a 6-foot-4, 180-pound guard that just finished his redshirt senior season at Nevada, where he spent two years (plus a redshirt season) after transferring from Brown. He has one year of eligibility.

Both natives of Nashville, Tennessee, Devan prepped at Hillcrest Prep, while Desmond played high school hoops at the Hun School of Princeton.

Devan was an unranked recruit coming out of high school, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, but he earned a three-star rating from some recruiting sites. He came in as the No. 21-ranked small forward in the NCAA Transfer Portal, per On3’s Transfer Portal rankings. Devan has appeared in 91 games for Auburn over three seasons before entering the transfer portal. He also made 33 starts with 14 coming this season. After averaging 8.9 points and 3.6 rebounds last season, Cambridge saw a reduced role in 2021-22 after the addition of Georgia transfer KD Johnson and others.

Similarly, Desmond was unranked coming out of high school, but he quickly rose to prominence at Brown and later at Nevada. Desmond currently ranks as the No. 25 shooting guard in the NCAA Transfer Portal, per On3’s Transfer Portal rankings. After averaging 16.5 points per game at Brown, he kept up the high-level production at Nevada, and he finished as the Wolfpack’s second-leading scorer last season. Cambridge posted 16.2 points a game on 43.5 percent from the field and 37 percent from three, while grabbing 5.1 rebounds and dishing out 1.8 assists per outing.

“I would like to thank the University of Nevada, the city of Reno, the coaching staff & Wolf Pack Nation,” Desmond Cambridge said after entering the NCAA Transfer Portal. “My experience in Reno has been unforgettable, and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to be apart of such a great community. The way that I have matured mentally & physically over the last several years will stick with me for the rest of my life, and I have this city to thank for that. I will never forget my time here! Thank you.”
