Four-Star linebacker Drayk Bowen of Merrillville (Ind.) Andrean has narrowed his list to five schools – Notre Dame, Clemson, LSU, Indiana and Auburn.

The 6-foot-2, 215-pound linebacker recently announced his top 12 but that list is now down to five. Bowen cut Tennessee, Virginia Tech, NC State, South Carolina, Texas A&M, Ole Miss and Michigan from his previous list.

Being recruited as both an elite football and baseball player is a vital component in Bowen’s recruitment. He is ranked as one of the top baseball players in the nation.

Bowen discusses each school in his top five with On3.

NOTRE DAME

“Notre Dame is a great school. It has all-around top-notch academics and football with baseball playing extremely well the past two years,” Drayk Bowen said. “My relationship with coach (Marcus) Freeman is amazing, and talking to him is always awesome.”

CLEMSON

“Clemson has been a top program for years,” Drayk Bowen said. “They made the visit amazing. I loved the campus and got to talk to their baseball staff a little. I liked the coach.”

LSU

“LSU was awesome,” Drayk Bowen said. “It was awesome being able to talk to Coach O (Ed Orgeron) and hear how much they wanted me. LSU is an extremely good baseball team as well. It is very rare to find a baseball and football program that is that good at both sports.”

INDIANA

“Indiana is in state,” Drayk Bowen said. “I’ve always loved their campus and Coach (Tom) Allen. They’ve been talking to me about both baseball and football, which made them high in my top schools. Also, their business school is highly regarded.”

AUBURN

“I’ve been recruited to Auburn in both sports since the very beginning,” Bowen said. “Coach (Jeff) Schmedding is awesome, and their baseball is a top program.”

Being able to visit the campus and build relationships with the coaches also was big for the 2023 linebacker.

“The campus was awesome, and being able to see the coaches and build relationships was really great,” he said.
