Dylan Raiola reflects on Ohio State commitment as Nebraska prepares for Week 8 matchup
Former Ohio State commit Dylan Raiola will face off against the Buckeyes on Saturday as the Nebraska starting quarterback.
The former five-star recruit ultimately signed with the Cornhuskers after being committed to Ohio State and Georgia and has served as the Nebraska starting quarterback throughout his freshman season.
Dylan Raiola admitted this week that he grew up wanting to play at Ohio State. He is looking forward to playing at Ohio Stadium for the first time on Saturday.
“Yea, I have a lot of respect for their program and what coach Day did. Still do,” Dylan Raiola said. “But I’m happy where I’m at today. It’ll be fun to go back and kind of be on the other side, if you want to say, and see some guys after the game. It’ll be a cool atmosphere to go into.”
Raiola knows the Ohio State coaching staff well, in addition to several Buckeyes players. He knows that Nebraska has a tough challenge playing in The Horseshoe but he is thankful for the opportunity.

Raiola attended three games at Ohio Stadium while he was committed to the Buckeyes.
“Yea, I know a lot of them, just through recruiting and everything,” Dylan Raiola said of Ohio State players. “It’s a cool place. Never played there. Always grew up wanting to play there, so my opportunity’s here.”
Ohio State head coach Ryan Day was asked about facing Raiola this week and shared that he is an impressive young quarterback.
Raiola decommitted from the Buckeyes on Dec. 17 of 2022 after committing to OSU in May of that year.
“I think I heard a stat the other day that, of the starting quarterbacks in the Big Ten, maybe it was like 14 or something like that have been transfers,” said Day, who notably has Kansas State graduate transfer Will Howard leading his offense. “So whether it’s decommitments or transferring, it’s part of the world that we live in right now. You just have to adapt to it.
“When it comes to Dylan, I think he’s got an opportunity to be a great player. I think he’s already playing at a high level. He’s got a lot of talent, and he’s got a great family.”
