Oregon has been working hard to hold onto a commitment from Owings Mills (Md.) McDonogh School four-star cornerback Brandon Finney as both Michigan and Penn State are pushing for a flip.

Finney was set to take an official visit with the Wolverines this weekend, but plans have changed for the 6-foot-2, 185-pounder. On Friday, he took to his Instagram story to show that he’s back in Eugene for another visit with the Ducks:

This is Finney’s second trip to Oregon since he committed on June 25. He was on campus last month to see a big win over Ohio State. That visit came one week after he took a visit to Penn State — the program currently trending to flip his pledge, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

“My first game-day experience was great,” Finney told On3 after watching the Ducks beat the Buckeyes. “The atmosphere was amazing. It was really loud as people on social media said. The atmosphere throughout the whole game was really loud, and it wasn’t just the first quarter. Throughout the whole game, the crowd was in and actually had an impact on the game.”

He’s now getting back around Dan Lanning and the Ducks’ staff as they host multiple key visitors despite not having a game to play this Saturday. With the Early Signing Period now less than two weeks away, Oregon will get a chance to make its final pitch to Finney in-person as he continues to weigh his options.

“I’m still committed to Oregon,” Finney said last month. “I feel like it’s a good place, but I am looking at schools like Penn State. They have been on for a while and have shown a big priority for them.”

Multiple predictions were logged in the On3 RPM at the end of October and beginning of November for Penn State to flip the Free State standout. The Nittany Lions have made Finney a major priority down the stretch this cycle.

“They’ve stayed consistent on me,” Finney said of the PSU staff in an interview with BWI. “Their feelings about me haven’t changed at all. They’ve been calling me and have stayed in contact the entire time. I know it’s a place that has everything I need to succeed.”

Following the latest rankings updates across the industry, Finney is now the No. 37 overall prospect and No. 6 CB in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the top-ranked player in Maryland.
