The Dallas Cowboys appear to be heating up on both sides of the ball. After falling to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week One, the Cowboys have won two consecutive games to reach 2-1. On Monday night, the Cowboys had a strong effort on offense, defeating the Philadelphia Eagles 41-21.

Quarterback Dak Prescott was 21 of 26 with 238 yards and three touchdowns in the game. Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard both had good days running the ball. Elliott rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries while Pollard had 60 yards on 11 carries.

CeeDee Lamb and Amari Cooper are the Cowboys’ top two receivers and each had three receptions in the win. But Cedrick Wilson caught a touchdown pass and tight end Dalton Schultz stole the show with 80 yards and two scores on six receptions. Defensively, Trevon Diggs returned an interception for a touchdown.

Seeing so many faces getting involved has been refreshing for Elliott. When everyone on a team can contribute, the energy that creates is tough to stop.

“As soon as Diggs had that pick coming out of the half, I saw their whole energy low and the whole momentum shift,” Elliott said via Pro Football Talk’s Josh Alper.. “When you’ve got contagious energy, and everybody is excited to see each other make those type of plays. It’s hard to come back from that. That’s one thing that I like about this team. Everybody can eat.

“It’s not just one person out there making plays. There’s a whole bunch of people making plays. It’s just so contagious right now and I just like the momentum we’ve got going on. We’ve got to keep it going one week at a time.”

Dak Prescott: The Cowboys offense is playing together

It has been a great year so far for the Dallas offense, and the defense has performed better than expected. On offense, Dak Prescott has completed 77.5% of his passes for 878 yards, six touchdowns, and two interceptions. Elliott and Pollard both have at least 183 yards rushing and a touchdown. Seven players have at least seven receptions, with four having at least 143 yards.

Seeing everything come together on offense like it has is encouraging for a Cowboys team that could prove to be a contender in the NFC.

“This offense is just playing together,” Prescott said after the game. “We got a great place to play that we’re playing with. We got a great brotherhood. Everybody’s holding each other accountable. It’s fun to be a part of. We’ve got so many playmakers that don’t have egos. They make my job easy. Offensive line protects and guys go make plays.”
