Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Stranahan five-star wide receiver Hykeem Williams capped off one of the most lavish college commitment ceremonies Friday by committing to Florida State.

He was overjoyed and overwhelmed at the spectacle and fulfillment of a livelong dream, which came at the end of a long process.

The five-star wideout praised the Seminoles work ethic and has been really excited by the way the school has been playing.

“I don’t really look too much at the wins and losses,” Williams told a group of reporters after his commitment. “I just look at how they play. Because a team could get beat by 40 and still be the hardest working team in the nation so it’s just about how they work.”

On3’s Joseph Hastings — who was in Fort Lauderdale for the commitment ceremony — talked with a family member who said Williams is “too loyal” to flip from his commitment.

But Williams did say that he is going to stay in contact with four other schools: Alabama, Miami and Pitt and Texas A&M.

He also said he will still take his official visit to Texas A&M in December, which has been his plan all along.

“At the end of the day, I still ain’t signed,” Williams said.

The On3 Consensus — a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies — has Williams as the No. 20 overall prospect and No. 4 wide receiver in the class.

He is also the fifth-ranked player from the state of Florida.

Williams currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $226k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
