Arkansas transfer Jaxson Robinson has committed to BYU, he told On3.

“Thank you to all of the programs that reached out over the past few weeks, I appreciate all of you,” Robinson said to On3. “During the short amount of time I spent at BYU, it felt like home. I felt an immediate bond with Coach (Mark) Pope, the coaching staff, and my future teammates. I believe being a part of the Cougar family will put me in the best position to become the best player and person I can possibly be. I look forward to playing in front of Cougar Nation.”

The former four-star recruit played one season at Arkansas before entering the NCAA transfer portal in May.

“First, I would like to thank God for blessing me with the ability to play the sport that I love. To the University of Arkansas, I want to say thank you. Thank you for embracing me and making me feel like one of your own. My experience here is something I will cherish forever. After taking some time to speak with my family and consider what is best for my future, I have decided to enter into the transfer portal,” Robinson said in a statement to On3.

During his single season with the Razorbacks, the 6-foot-6 shooting guard never found a consistent role, averaging 10.2 minutes of play per game (3.4 PPG, 1.3 RPG).

Jaxson Robinson began his career at Texas A&M, joining the Aggies as a top-50 prospect before reclassifying up to 2020. During his time in College Station, Robinson played in 14 of A&M’s 18 games, making four starts. He finished the year averaging 2.1 points and 1.1 rebounds in 9.7 minutes per game. At the conclusion of the 2020-21 season, Robinson entered the transfer portal after just one year at Texas A&M.

Robinson becomes the fourth newcomer to BYU’s 2022 recruiting class. He joins fellow transfer Rudi Williams (14.7 PPG at Coastal Carolina), to go along with highly-touted freshman Collin Chandler (four-star), as well as Braeden Moore (three-star).

It’s also important to note that Chandler will be taking a Mormon mission trip that will last two years, so Chandler will not enroll at BYU until 2024.
