Former Florida Gators coach and ESPN Studio Analyst Dan Mullen made his prediction on what he thinks the SEC East order will be at the end of the season. Mullen released his prediction via Twitter Thursday with defending National Champion UGA at the top of the SEC East yet again.

Here are Dan Mullen’s SEC East picks:

1. Georgia

2. Kentucky

3. Tennessee

4. Florida

5. South Carolina

6. Missouri

7. Vanderbilt

Mullen’s top three in the east are in the same order as last season, predicting the same results from Georgia, Kentucky, and Tennessee at the top of the division. Mullen picking UGA to represent the east is no surprise, as they are the favorite and ranked the No. 3 team in the nation according to the preseason poll. The Bulldogs did lose a record 15 players to the NFL draft following last season, but bring back quarterback Stetson Bennett and other key contributors on both sides of the ball.

Mullen has Kentucky finishing ahead of Tennessee at the two and three spots, two teams that showed major improvement from 2020 to 2021 and bring back two star, senior, dual-threat quarterbacks in Will Levis and Hendon Hooker. The Wildcats and Vols face off in week 8 at Tennessee in a crucial matchup with a lot of divisional implications.

Mullen has his former team Florida finishing in the middle of the pack at the four spot, which would be an improvement from their second to last place finish a season ago. Mullen seems to believe in new Florida coach Billy Napier turning things around quickly for the Gators in his first season at the helm.

Mullen has South Carolina finishing number five in the east yet again, the same place the finished last season. The Gamecocks add talented Oklahoma transfer quarterback Spencer Rattler to their roster, but also have one of the hardest schedules in the country and will face UGA early in week 3. Aside from who they face in the east division, South Carolina also has matchups with Arkansas and Texas A&M from the west.

Mullen finally has Missouri and Vanderbilt finishing at the bottom of the division, as the Tigers enter their third season under head coach Eliah Drinkwitz and the Commodores look to avoid their ninth straight losing season this year.
