Former four-star Florida State DB Conrad Hussey lands on Oregon State roster

According to Angie Machado of 247Sports, the Oregon State Beavers have added defensive back Conrad Hussey to their roster. Hussey spent the last two seasons in Tallahassee with the Florida State Seminoles. Head coach Mike Norvell dismissed Hussey from the program this past fall, opening the door to find a new home.
“BREAKING: Oregon State has added DB Conrad Hussey to the football roster,” Machado said via X. “6-foot, 191 pound athlete from Ft. Lauderdale (Fla) St. Thomas Aquinas spent two seasons with Florida State before being dismissed during fall camp.”
As mentioned, Hussey played high school football at Ft. Lauderdale (FL) St. Thomas Aquinas. He was a four-star prospect and the No. 217 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
In 24 games during his time with Florida State, Hussey wound up recording 40 tackles. Eighteen of those were during the 2024 season, missing two contests due to an injury. Some thought Hussey would wind up being a contributor moving forward but the dismissal came without any explanation.
Oregon State is well into its 2025 campaign, starting out with three losses. A big one is coming up on Saturday, though, renewing the Civil War against Oregon. The Beavers are hoping for a better result after falling in Corvallis last year, wanting to break a two-game losing streak in the bitter in-state rivalry.

Florida State HC Mike Norvell provides update on Ethan Pritchard
Florida State LB Ethan Pritchard is still in recovery from a shooting that took place back on August 30th. He’s making progress, though, according to Mike Norvell.
Norvell shared the latest on Pritchard during his press conference on Monday. He said he had gone to see him earlier this morning, with Pritchard showing positive steps with something as simple as blinking with his eyes.
“Yeah, you know, I actually went by and saw him this morning, and there has been progress,” Norvell said. “And, you know, yesterday, you know, he opened his eyes, and it was something that, you know, was emotional for everybody, to be honest with you.
“You know, it’s still a long part of the process, in this process moving forward. But, it was – it puts all things in perspective – the appreciation of a blink. And, you know, he is fighting. His family, you know, is there, so very supportive. There’s still some, you know, major steps along the way that we’re all going to be believing for and supporting and continuing in our prayers. But, you know, just grateful for him, grateful for his family.”
