Four-star 2023 TE Ethan Davis announces new top seven

Suwanee (Ga.) Collins Hill junior tight end Ethan Davis’ top schools list shrunk and changed up a bit. The 160th overall player in the On3 Consensus Recruiting Rankings for the class of 2023, the 83rd ranked player in the On3 rankings, announced a new top seven school list on Saturday night.

Davis’ list included Florida State, Georgia, Ole Miss, Cincinnati, Tennessee, Penn State and South Carolina.

His top 10 list that he released back in September included Oregon, Kentucky, Auburn and Texas. Those teams didn’t make the cut this time. Georgia wasn’t in Davis’ top 10 but have cracked the top seven.

Davis took an unofficial visit to Athens last Saturday. He came away greatly impressed with the Bulldogs. Davis said in an interview last week that Georgia had begun recruiting him harder. He showcased Georgia gloves during Collins Hill’s playoff win on Friday night.

“Coach (Todd) Hartley and I have always had a good relationship and they’re definitely still being considered,” Davis said. “More (of Georgia’s) coaches have been reaching out. I’ve been talking to Hartley a lot more…Athens was great. It was an amazing environment. The game was great. Me and coach Todd Hartley caught up before and after the game. It was an outstanding game played by the dawgs.”
