Aiden Sherrell is the 2023 On3 Consensus No. 45 ranked player. The 6-foot-10 forward averaged 11.3-points, 9.8-rebounds, and 4.4-blocks playing for The Syndicate on Nike’s 16u EYBL Circuit.

“I’m versatile on the floor,” Sherrell told On3. “I can dribble the ball up the court, shoot the ball, go to the rim. I’m a playmaker for my size. I watch a lot of Anthony Davis; he’s a versatile player who affects the game on both ends.”

The four-star recently announced his transfer to Phoenix (AZ) Hillcrest Prep this season. On3 caught up with Aiden Sherrell recently to talk about his recruitment.

“I would definitely say Texas Tech and Texas A&M have been hitting me the most,” Sherrell said. “I don’t have any visits set yet; Michigan State has been trying to get me up there.” (editor’s note – Sherrell picked up an offer from Alabama since this discussion.)

Sherrell talks recruitment

Texas Tech: “They are a great defensive program. They develop their players on both sides of the floor, and I have seen that watching them play. They get gritty on defense.”

Texas A&M: “I don’t know as much about them yet, to be honest. They tell me how much they like my size and my versatility. They keep telling me how I fit with them, and their style and I can come in and be an impact on the floor.”

Michigan State: “I’m from Michigan, so I’ve watched a lot of them. Tom Izzo is a great coach, and it’s a great program. They get guys ready for the next level. They have not offered yet.”

Sherrell’s take

“I’m going to be looking for the program that is going to get me to the next level,” Sherrell said. “Prepare me in all aspects of life, on and off the floor.

“I want to be able to showcase my full game. I don’t want to just sit in the post or just play out on the wing. I’ll look to go to a program that will let me do everything I can do.”

On3’s take

Aiden Sherrell has a muscular frame with long arms. His strong base allows him to establish a good position on the block where he is a good area rebounder. Sherrell can finish over both shoulders, in traffic, and has solid explosion, getting above the rim. At 6-foot-10, he can stretch the floor, extending beyond the three-point line. Sherrell tends to play too much on the perimeter. At this point, he is most effective playing from the inside-out. There is a lot there, great natural tools.
