Four-star cornerback Damari Brown of Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) American Heritage has  narrowed his list to six schools— Clemson, Florida State, LSU, Oklahoma, Miami, and Alabama.

The 6-foot-1, 185 pounder went in-depth on his finalists.

Clemson

“Coach Reed has created a track record by putting some of the top guys in the NFL,” Brown said. “He feels like he can bring me in, develop me, and put me at the next level. The atmosphere at Clemson is crazy, and they’re a defensive team school and have been winning.”

Florida State

“Florida State is a family oriented school,” Brown said. “I’m close with coach Woodson and coach Shannon played with my dad back at Miami. I know I have a chance to play early there as well.”

LSU

“Coach Steeples has been telling me that they are low on corners, and they need some freshman that will come in and make an impact,” Brown said. “LSU is a top DBU school, and the attention on DB’s that play at LSU is always high.

Oklahoma

“Coach Venables just came from Clemson, a top defense, and brought over coach Valai,” Brown said. “Coach Valai is a defensive guru and knows the ins and outs of the position, so I know that he can develop me and become a good player on and off the field. He can put me in the league.”

Miami

“Coach Cristobal and Addai are making it hard for me to leave,” Brown said. “They believe that they have something good that they are building, and can bring Miami back to a national caliber team. With all the pieces from recruiting, facilities, winning, they just put a master plan together and want me to believe in it. They have a big vision and I believe that they can change things.”

Alabama

“Coach T-Rob came from Miami and had been recruiting me there, and told me that if I want to win, then that’s the school I need to be at,” Brown said. “Alabama’s tradition is unbeatable. They’re a top school that has been winning every year. I met coach Saban in person and he said he really likes my size and skill, and that I have a legitimate chance to play at Alabama.”

Brown ranks as the No. 211 player in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that accounts for all four major recruiting sites. He also tabs in as the No. 28 cornerback and the No. 41 player in the state of Florida.
