Camden (N.J.) IMG Academy defensive lineman Will Norman is down to five schools, he announced Tuesday on Twitter.

Norman is the No. 123 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 17 defensive lineman and the No. 24 junior prospect in Florida.

Among his top five are: FloridaLSUMichiganPenn State and Texas A&M.

Florida looking to keep Will Norman in his new home

The Gators are considered the favorites to land Norman, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). Currently, it gives Florida a 54.2 percent chance to secure his commitment. Texas A&M sits in second at 20.1 percent with LSU running third (15.7%).

He visited Gainesville in January and again in April, and said came away impressed with Florida’s new coaching staff and said it “really changed things for him.” The 6-foot-4, 276-pound Norman says the SEC school is already providing him with a home-like feel. Their genuine approach is sure not hurting the program’s chances either.

“I can definitely see myself getting in and just being somebody early in the system,” he told GatorsOnline. That just means a lot to me, especially at at the highest level being in the SEC. I can definitely see myself making an early impact if I did choose the Gators.”

In his latest intel, On3’s Chad Simmons broke down the race for Norman:

“Florida has really made a big move with Norman this spring. The Gators are one of three that have “separated” from the pack one source has said. Two others are LSU and Texas A&M. He is familiar with Jimbo Fisher and College Station, but he is still working on his first visit to Baton Rouge. A sleeper in this race is Clemson. If the Tigers offer, Norman will take a strong look, but for now, Norman’s trending towards the SEC.”
