Garrett Nussmeier, Whit Weeks injury updates: LSU stars status updated on Thursday report vs. Arkansas

The 2025 season hasn’t gone the way either the Arkansas Razorbacks or the LSU Tigers had hoped. That doesn’t change the fact that there is a lot of passion behind this rivalry game, and both teams want to put their best foot forward to win The Boot.
Both Arkansas and LSU are on interim coaches at this point and a bowl is out of reach for the Razorbacks. They’re both also coming off losses. In LSU’s case, that’s three-straight losses. For Arkansas, it’s been seven straight losses, including all of their SEC games. So, both teams are looking to snap a losing streak and try to finish the season out on a high note.
With all of that in mind, each team will be releasing several availability reports for the week’s game. The first of those came out on Wednesday. Now, here’s the latest coming in from Thursday’s reports.
Arkansas Razorbacks (2-7, 0-5 SEC)
- DB Quentavius Scandrett – Out
- WR Monte Harrison – Out
- WR Jalen Brown – Out
- RB AJ Green – Out
- OL Shaq McRoy – Out
- TE Andreas Paaske – Out
- DL David Oke – Out
- DB Larry Worth III – Out (1st half)
- DL Charlie Collins – Questionable
- RB Braylen Russell – Questionable
LSU Tigers (5-4, 2-4)
- WR Nic Anderson – Out
- DE Gabriel Reliford – Out
- OL Tyree Adams – Out
- LB Whit Weeks – Questionable
- QB Garrett Nussmeier – Probable
Coming into the week, there had been some question about the health of Arkansas quarterback Taylen Green. Prior to their bye week, he hit his head hard late in the loss to Mississippi State. That, in turn, seemed to cause some concern about him moving forward. However, he’s improved rapidly and didn’t make it to the report to open the week.
The problem for the Razorbacks, however, is that they do have other injury concerns that are getting less positive updates. On the offense alone, Arkansas ruled out five different players on Wednesday’s report. That included three pass catchers, a running back, and an offensive lineman. The defense has taken its own hits too, including the first half targeting suspension of Larry Worth III.

LSU was able to rule out a few players by Wednesday. However, the biggest question mark is star linebacker Whit Weeks. He hasn’t played since October 11th with a bone bruise in his ankle, and he’s commonly been seen in a walking boot. Still uncertain for the Arkansas game, though interim head coach Frank Wilson shared he tried to play against Alabama a week ago, but just hasn’t been ready.
“Whit? You know, his thing is, again, as tolerated, as how he finished the game. Once we got out there, you know, and we’re in Tuscaloosa, and the juices are flowing, and he’s like, ‘Coach, I can go! I can go’. Well, yeah, right – you couldn’t go yesterday. But that’s just your adrenaline, alright, and so he got himself in a frenzy of a position and he’s a competitor so he wanted to play. But you can’t tell me the day of the game, right,” Wilson said earlier in the week.
“And so, we’ll see. We’ll see how it goes. I’m uncertain right now. Probably hopeful, without medically using the term doubtful or whatever. But he was in great spirits, he’s eager. He wants to be back out there, but we won’t put him out there until he can protect himself and play at the level that allows him to be elite.”
Only time will tell on all of these injuries, and there will be more updates to come before the game. Kickoff is currently scheduled for 12:45 p.m. EST in Baton Rouge.
