Heisman voters Matt Zenitz and Mike Huguenin provide weekly updates on who leads the Heisman race for them. Here is how each has the Heisman field after Week Five.

Matt Zenitz’s list

1. Tennessee QB Hendon Hooker: In 15 starts for Tennessee in the past two seasons, Hooker has 45 total touchdowns with only two interceptions, including 11 TDs and zero interceptions in four games this season.
+ Season stats: 81-of-113 (71.7 percent), 1,193 yards, 8 TDs, 0 interceptions; 175 yards rushing, 3 TDs

2. Michigan RB Blake Corum: Corum has run for 376 yards and three touchdowns in Michigan’s first two Big Ten games.
+ Season stats: 611 rushing yards (6.6 yards per carry), 10 TDs
+ Week 5 stats: 133 rushing yards (4.6 yards per carry), 1 TD in 27-14 victory over Iowa

3. Ohio State QB C.J. Stroud: Led by Stroud, Ohio State has scored 101 points in its first two Big Ten games.

+ Week 5 stats: 13-of-22 (59.1 percent), 154 yards, 2 TDs, 1 interception in 49-0 victory over Iowa

4. Alabama QB Bryce Young: Young’s production against Arkansas (173 passing yards and two total touchdowns) came in barely more than a quarter of work before leaving with an injury. A first-quarter interception was the result of a tipped pass on a well-thrown ball.

5. USC QB Caleb Williams: Williams has accounted for four total touchdowns in three of USC’s past four games.
+ Season stats: 107-of-159 (67.3 percent), 1,402 yards, 12 TDs, 1 interceptions; 144 yards rushing, 3 TDs
+ Week 5 stats: 27-of-37 (73.0 percent), 348 yards, 3 TDs, 1 interception, 44 rushing yards, 1 TD in 42-25 victory over Arizona State

6. Wake Forest QB Sam Hartman: In three games against Power 5 opponents, Hartman has thrown for 871 yards and 12 touchdowns with zero interceptions.
+ Season stats: 86-of-134 (64.2 percent), 1,196 yards, 15 TDs, 2 interceptions
+ Week 5 stats: 22-of-34 (64.7 percent), 234 yards, 2 TDs in 31-21 victory over Florida State

7. Illinois RB Chase Brown: Brown is one of just eight Big Ten running backs in the past 20 years to begin a season with five consecutive 100-yard games. The others: Minnesota’s Laurence Maroney (2004), Michigan’s Mike Hart (2007), Iowa’s Shonn Greene (2008), Indiana’s Tevin Coleman (2014), Ohio State’s Ezekiel Elliott (2015), Wisconsin’s Jonathan Taylor (2018 and ’19) and Minnesota’s Mo Ibrahim (2020).
+ Season stats: 733 rushing yards (6.1 yards per carry), 4 TDs; 8 receptions, 37 yards, 1 TD

Mike Huguenin’s list

1. C.J. Stroud: Stroud is third nationally with 18 TD passes, one behind co-leaders Drake Maye and Will Rogers.

2. Caleb Williams: Williams threw for a season-high 348 yards as the Trojans moved to 5-0 with a win over Arizona State.

3. Hendon Hooker: Hooker and the Vols were idle last week, but he gets a chance to throw against LSU’s retooled secondary this week.

4. North Carolina QB Drake Maye: Maye has accounted for 22 touchdowns and is averaging 369.8 yards of total offense per game for the Tar Heels (4-1).
+ Season stats: 115-of-165 (69.7 percent), 1,594 yards, 19 TDs, 1 interception; 255 yards rushing, 3 TDs
+ Week 5 stats: 26-of-36 (72.2 percent), 363 yards, 3 TDs, 0 interceptions; 73 rushing yards, 2 TDs in 41-10 victory over Virginia Tech

5. UCLA QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson: He accounted for four touchdowns as UCLA outlasted previously unbeaten Washington.
+ Season stats: 104-of-140 (74.3 percent), 1,211 yards, 11 TDs, 1 interception; 223 yards rushing, 3 TDs
+ Week 5 stats: 24-of-33 (72.7 percent), 315 yards, 3 TDs, 0 interceptions; 53 rushing yards, 1 TD in 40-32 victory over Washington

6. Sam Hartman: Hartman helped Wake bounce back from a disappointing double-overtime loss at home to Clemson with a 31-21 win at previously unbeaten Florida State. Hartman and Wake went 10-of-18 on third down and 3-of-3 on fourth down.

7. Washington QB Michael Penix Jr.: Penix has thrown for at least 300 yards and two TDs in all five games, and leads the nation in passing yards per game at 346.6.
+ Season stats: 125-of-191 (65.4 percent), 1,733 yards, 16 TDs, 3 interceptions
+ Week 5 stats: 33-of-48 (68.8 percent), 345 yards, 4 TDs, 2 interceptions in 40-32 loss to UCLA
