3. Tennessee QB Hendon Hooker: During Tennessee’s win over Florida, Hooker became the first SEC quarterback since Ole Miss’ Jordan Ta’amu in 2018 with at least 300 passing yards and at least 100 rushing yards in a conference game.
+ Season stats: 81-of-113 (71.7 percent), 1,193 yards, 8 TDs, 0 interceptions; 175 yards rushing, 3 TDs
+ Week 4 stats: 349 passing yards, 112 rushing yards, three total touchdowns in the 38-33 win over Florida

4. Kansas QB Jalon Daniels: Daniels has accounted for 13 touchdowns in Kansas’ first three games against FBS opponents, wins over West Virginia, Houston and Duke.
+ Season stats: 66-of-93 (71.0 percent), 890 yards, 11 TDs, 1 interception; 320 yards rushing, 4 TDs

+ Week 4 stats: 337 passing yards, six passing TDs during the 51-45 overtime loss to Clemson

6. USC QB Caleb Williams: Oregon State held Williams and the USC offense to just 10 points through 58 minutes of game action, but Williams lifted the Trojans to a win with a late TD pass to Jordan Addison.
+ Season stats: 80-of-122 (65.6 percent), 1,054 yards, 9 TDs, 0 interceptions; 100 yards rushing, 2 TDs
+ Week 4 stats: 180 passing yards, 27 rushing yards, 1 TD pass in the 17-14 win over Oregon State

+ Week 4 stats: 103 rushing yards, 20 receiving yards, one TD in a 34-7 win over Michigan State

Mike Huguenin’s list

1. C.J. Stroud: Stroud torched Wisconsin for five TD passes, his second consecutive game with that many. He is tied for the national lead with 16 TD tosses.

2. Bryce Young: He threw for a season-high 385 yards in a rout of Vanderbilt; he surpassed that total just twice last season – and he had a much better receiving corps in 2021.

3. Hendon Hooker: He leads the SEC in total offense at 342.0 yards per game and has led the Vols to a No. 8 ranking – their highest since 2006.

4. Caleb Williams: He struggled a bit in a narrow win at Oregon State, but did throw the game-winning TD pass with 1:13 left. Of note: USC is turnover-free through four games.

5. Washington QB Michael Penix Jr.: Penix transferred from Indiana in the offseason and has helped the Huskies start 4-0, matching their win total from last season. He has thrown for 300 yards and at least two touchdowns in all four games; he also leads the nation at 347.0 passing yards per game.
+ Season stats: 92-of-143 (64.3 percent), 1,388 yards, 12 TDs, 1 interception
+ Week 4 stats: 309 passing yards, 2 TD passes during a 40-22 victory over Stanford

6. Jalon Daniels: Kansas is 4-0 and Daniels is the main reason. The best Heisman showing by a Kansas player was QB David Jaynes finishing fourth in 1974.

7. North Carolina QB Drake Maye: Maye has stepped nicely into the vacancy left when Sam Howell turned pro. He has been sharp every week, which is a good thing for the Tar Heels because their defense is awful.
+ Season stats: 89-of-129 (69.0 percent), 1,231 yards, 16 TDs, 1 interception; 182 rushing yards, 1 TD
+ Week 4 stats: 301 passing yards, 5 TD passes, 36 rushing yards during a 45-32 loss to Notre Dame
