Isaiah Miranda is the highest ranked player remaining in the 2023 class.

Now that the early signing period has come and gone, college programs are able to reshuffle their recruiting boards. They will sound their hits and misses and then look to see whether they would prefer to pursue a high school player or a transfer for their position of need.

Miranda is a 7-foot-1 center originally from Rhode Island and playing his postgraduate year at Los Angeles (CA) So Cal Academy. The four-star has taken one official visit during this cycle, and that was to Louisville in September. Miranda took visits last cycle to Georgetown, UCLA, and Southern California.

Miranda’s recruiting intel

Isaiah Miranda has only taken one senior year official visit to Louisville. Miranda came away from the visit talking about the versatility of the offense and his relationship with the coaches.

In recently speaking with Miranda. He said he is looking at three other programs to take a visit, Oregon, Texas, and Rhode Island. Dates or time frames have not been set yet for any future visits.

So let’s look at possible scenarios for Miranda.

The four-star goes to college. He takes a few more official visits during his year at So Cal Academy, makes a decision during the late signing period, and goes to college after the school year.

A second option for Miranda is going pro. Because Miranda graduated high school as part of the 2022 class, and this is a post-graduate year or a gap year, he will be eligible for the 2023 NBA Draft. He could go through the NBA Draft process and either get drafted or sign as an undrafted free agent. Numerous NBA personnel have been in to see Miranda already this season.

This would also include a G-League Ignite option; if they were to step forward with an offer, Miranda would be open and eligible for this route.

There is also a third option, an option to watch closely. It is a combination of the first two; Miranda could enroll at a college of choice mid-year. This is the route Shaedon Sharpe took last year at Kentucky. Miranda going this route would put him back in his original 2022 class. It would also keep him eligible for the 2023 NBA Draft.

With some recent smoke around option three, things would have to move quickly. A player would technically be able to start playing/practicing for his school of choice after the school’s first semester ends.
