Katy, Texas – On3 Consensus 4-star Jacolb Cole led Bellaire High to a 6A regional tournament appearance last night with 23 points, including a number of clutch plays down the stretch.

Following the Cardinals 56-46 win over Cypress Creek, the near 6-foot-8 small forward sat down with On3 to talk about his recruitment. And that includes three schools he plans to officially visit.

“I’ve been on two official visits,” Cole told On3 Tuesday night. “I have been to Nebraska and LSU. Both of those were in October.”

The visit to LSU was all about culture.

“The visit was fun. Coach (Will) Wade showed me around. He showed me their culture, and what I would bring to their program. He told me that I’m very versatile. I can play on the ball or off the ball, and can guard the one through four. And that I can give a team great energy.”

Getting far from home is going to be important for Cole in the decision making process. And that is a box checked by the Cornhuskers.

“Nebraska was a greta visit because I want to get far from home, so that is another place I could do that. Nebraska is a place to look at as an option. I feel like I want to go on an adventure. Experience and see new things far from home.”

That is not music to the ears of in-state offers that include Houston, TCU and Texas A&M. Especially with the Cougars ascending to one of college basketballs most consistent programs under Kelvin Sampson.

Cole has three more official visits in mind

Staying on the far from home theme, the No. 57 ranked prospect in the On3 Consensus has three more officials in mind.

“I would say Oklahoma, Tennessee and Xavier.”

Cole broke down the three future visits.

Tennessee: Tennessee is just a major culture. Rick Barnes has built a culture over there. That is a culture I would like to play in.

Oklahoma: The Sooners are great. They showed me that they have a family. I talk to Coach (David) Patrick and Coach (Porter) Moser a lot. It would be a great opportunity. Coach Moser tells me that I could be a very versatile player. Do a little bit of everything on the court. And be able to push forward as a player.

Xavier: Xavier is nice because it is far from home in Cincinnati. They are a really strong program too.

Bellaire will take on Shadow Creek in the 6A Region III semi-final on Friday
