Four-star Jaden Schutt has committed to Duke basketball for the class of 2022, he tells On3.

Schutt is the Blue Devil’s third commitment in the class, joining five-star small forward Dariq Whitehead and four-star center Kyle Filipowski. Duke has now landed three top-100 prospects, giving them a top-5 recruiting class for 2022.

Schutt, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard, out of Yorkville (Ill.) Yorkville Christian averaged 26.2 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and nearly three steals per game as a junior.

Schutt chose the Blue Devils over Michigan State, Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, among others.

In addition, Duke is targeting Mark Mitchell, Dereck Lively, and JJ Starling.

Jaden Schutt on why he chose Duke

“Duke made me feel like a priority,” Schutt said. “They never pressured me and throughout the process, I never felt like I was being recruited. It was all very genuine. I believe in Coach (Jon) Scheyer and in his staff and their ability to help me grow as a player and as a person.”

Schutt told On3 in a previous interview that Duke was his dream school growing up. Today, that dream came true.

Fun fact about Jaden Schutt: he holds the Illinois state record with 17 three-pointers made in a single game. Furthermore, Schutt is also a champion. This summer his AAU squad, the Illinois Wolves, were crowned Under Armour Association (UAA) champions. Schutt led his team in scoring and averaged 17.1 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.9 assists.
