Jayden Daniels is set to start at quarterback for LSU when the Tigers open their season against Florida State tonight, sources tell On3.

Daniels, a transfer from Arizona State, has been competing with redshirt freshman Garrett Nussmeier for the Tigers’ starting QB job. LSU coach Brian Kelly didn’t name a starter publicly in advance of the game vs. Florida State.

Daniels, who was a three-year starter for Arizona State, accumulated 2,380 passing yards, 710 rushing yards and 16 total touchdowns for the Sun Devils last season.

LSU enters the matchup against Florida State as a four-point favorite.

The game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time and will be televised on ABC.
