Shawnee (Kan.) Mill Valley four-star EDGE Jayden Woods has flipped his commitment from Penn State to Florida, he tells On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Woods had previously been committed the Nittany Lions since June, when he chose them over Kansas State, Tennessee and Wisconsin.

Billy Napier and Co. made a late push for him though, bringing Woods to campus the weekend of November 23 for an official visit. Now he joins a class that is rocketing up the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

With him in the fold, the Gators jump from No. 18 to No. 15 nationally in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. He also becomes the ninth commitment for UF since it announced that head coach Billy Napier would remain with the program.

Just this week alone, four-star linebacker Ty Jackson out of Loxahatchee (Fla.) flipped his commitment from USC to the Gators on Monday morning. A few hours later, three-stars Muizz Tounkara and Jahari Medlock flipped from Arizona and Cincinnati, respectively. Exactly 24 hours after Jackson’s flip, four-star American Heritage (Fla.) running back Byron Louis jumped from Florida State to the Gators.

The 6-foot-3, 235-pounder is the No. 116 overall prospect in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranks as the nation’s No. 14 EDGE and No. 4 recruit in the Sunflower State.

More targets left on the board for the Gators

The Gators are now up to 20 commitments in the cycle, giving them plenty of runway to continue to move up in the rankings. Last week, On3’s Hunter Shelton detailed the path for the Gators to get into the top 10 of the team rankings, and that didn’t even include adding Jackson.

Among the potential future Gators are five-stars Solomon Thomas (committed to Florida State), as well as receivers Jaime Ffrench (Texas) and Dallas Wilson (Oregon).

Thomas is one Gators fans will want to keep an eye on, as he’s always had them among his top schools. He told On3’s Chad Simmons that UF has continued to make a good impression on him, and he plans to announce his final decision next week on National Signing Day.
