Burlington (N.C.) Hugh M. Cummings four-star wide receiver Jonathan Paylor announced his top 10 schools on Saturday. They are Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Maryland, NC State, North Carolina, Ohio State, South Carolina and Tennessee.

Paylor is the No. 106 overall prospect and No. 8 wide receiver in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 2 player in North Carolina behind Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day School four-star quarterback Jadyn Davis.

The 5-foot-9, 170-pound wideout has already visited some of his finalists. The Wolfpack have received the most with seven. His latest trip to Raleigh was on Nov. 5.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, NC State is leading for his commitment at 36.6%. However, North Carolina is not far behind at 27.7%.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

“Everything down to how they’re coaching the players,” Paylor told Ethan McDowell of The Wolfpacker on Aug. 23 about his questions for schools. “Even grade wise. How’s the school’s tradition? Even how they’re going to use me as a receiver, or do they want me as receiver? Everything like that.”

Paylor has an On3 NIL Valuation of $69K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
