Lyndon (Kan.) three-star offensive tackle Kaedin Massey announced his top six schools on Thursday night. They are Oklahoma, Kansas, Ole Miss, Michigan State, Nebraska and Kansas State.

Massey is the No. 1,018 overall prospect and No. 73 offensive tackle in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 5 player in Kansas.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Kansas has a very close lead for Massey’s commitment at 33.1%. He last visited the Jayhawks on March 28.

Meanwhile, the 6-foot-8, 255-pound recruit saw Michigan State on April 25, Oklahoma on March 25, Kansas State on March 21 and Nebraska on March 20.

“I plan to be done and committed before July 1,” Massey told On3’s Chad Simmons on April 27. “Right now, I’m just taking visits and keeping it going. It is a lot to figure things out. I was really close to announcing my top schools but new schools like Illinois and Michigan State started to reach out.”

Massey discusses five of his finalists

Kansas and Kansas State have both hosted Massey multiple times. He likes how each in-state program is treating him like a priority.

“They’ve both really been recruiting me hard,” Massey said. “I can definitely feel that they want me and I feel like I’ve grown to have a good relationship with the coaching staffs. I’ve been to visit each a few times, so I feel like I know the ins and outs of the programs pretty well.”

Meanwhile, the three-star expressed high praise of both Nebraska and Oklahoma.

Nebraska: “Nebraska has a great culture and you can tell that they’re trying to build themselves back up to where they have been in the past. I really feel like Coach (Matt) Rule is putting some good things together to bring them back up.”

Oklahoma: “I really like the culture and the tone that coach (Brent) Venables has set at Oklahoma. He really has an inspirational side to his guys and he wants to make these guys become the best person they can be and the best football player they can be. I really like the S.O.U.L. program that they have and it’s just something that you don’t see very much anywhere else.”

Massey received an offer from Michigan State on his visit last month. He discussed his interest in the Spartans with Jason Killop of SpartanMag.

“It was really nice to be able to meet him in person and talk with him one-on-one,” Massey said of his conversation with offensive line coach Chris Kapilovic. “His message was that he has a definite standard in offensive linemen and he believes I will exceed that standard and that I would be a great fit to move Michigan State forward.”
