DeShaun Foster was pretty quiet about Keanu Williams and Kanye Clark injury updates following UCLA’s loss to Indiana.

The defenders, on the defensive line and backfield respectively, have unknown statuses ahead of Saturday’s game against LSU. Foster refused to give an update to local members of the media.

Whether it’s for game strategy or another reason, Foster only confirmed Williams was in a walking boot.

“Yeah he’s wearing a boot,” Foster said of Williams.

When asked if Williams would be out this week, the coach said “no comment.”

Clark? Good luck getting an answer.

“No comment,” Foster responded.

DeShaun Foster mum on UCLA injury updates

UCLA seemed to be outclassed in its Big Ten opener at home against Indiana. Losing 42-13 can certainly leave a sour taste in any coach’s mouth, especially Foster.

“Indiana came out and played a great game,” Foster said postgame. “They came out and executed, played good. Offensively, we were not able to stay ahead of the chains like we would like to. Defensively, they played a pretty good first half, with the offense putting the defense in kind of bad situations. But it is a learning experience for both sides of the ball, and we have to continue to improve.”

Foster remained level-headed though, despite the 1-1 start and a blowout loss.

“About myself? I mean I’m calm, regardless,” Foster said. “It’s not really about me learning, but everybody in there can learn. But it’s just unfortunate the way that this game went. The first half, kind of didn’t go the way we wanted to. But I didn’t anticipate the second half going this way.

“I just want to make sure that I get my guys ready to go. We have a lot of players in there that look up to me, and I’m going to continue to be me and get these guys ready to play some ball.”
