This is season is a big one for Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian’s new two-way addition Keaton Thomas.

The linebacker and three-star wide receiver has offers from Kentucky, Harvard, Georgia Tech and a dozen other D-I programs, but a standout performance this year could draw blue blood interest.

“I’m definitely enjoying the process, I’m just blessed to be in this position,” Thomas said. “Sometimes it’s slow, sometimes it’s fast, but it’s great.

“I’m just accumulating offers right now, I’m trying to see if I can pull anything late from a couple schools but if not, I think I know where I’m going.”

Keaton Thomas playing with the big boys

Thomas transferred in to Trinity Christian Academy from Ponte Vedra High School for senior year.

He’ll get to play alongside several other future D-I ballers like Penn State corner commit Camron Miller and Oklahoma running back commit Treyaun Webb. The two-way athlete will also catch passes from one of the fastest rising incoming freshmen in the nation, Colin Hurley.

“It’s great that coaches will get to see me working with these four-stars, they’ll see us putting in the work and how well we work together,” Thomas said.

Looking up to super bowl champ Von Miller, Thomas sees himself as a disruptor at outside linebacker in college.

“My physicality and my knowledge of the game,” Thomas said about what separates him from other linebackers in the state.

The three-star already looks a lot different than he did on his junior highlight tape. He’s added almost 15 pounds of muscle.

“I think coaches want to see more explosiveness,” Thomas said. “I put on a lot more muscle and I’m like 3-4 steps faster, so they’ll definitely be seeing that this year.”

Georgia Tech leaves great impression on Keaton Thomas

Like most rising seniors being recruited, Thomas did camps and took visits when the dead period lifted in June. He saw FSU, Miami, Georgia Tech and Wake Forest already, and he has a trip planned to Harvard before the season starts.

“My favorite trip was definitely Georgia Tech,” Thomas said. “My dad’s from Thomasville, Georgia. It’s nice, it’s really nice. I love Atlanta, the city’s beautiful.

“Coach (Geoff) Collins is so good. He’s a cool dude and he’s a younger guy, so he gets the memo. It’s awesome up there.”

It sounds like Thomas has heavy interest in being a Yellow Jacket, but other schools still have an opportunity to jump in late.

“I’ve talked to some other programs, just small conversations here and there, but I think after this year I’ll pull some big time offers.”
