No. 2 Gonzaga (2-1) hosts No. 4 Kentucky (3-1) Sunday evening in one of the most anticipated non-conference matchups of the early college basketball season.

Both teams are coming off losses earlier in the week against quality opponents. The Wildcats fell to Michigan State in double overtime – a team the Bulldogs outlasted 64-63 days earlier – while Gonzaga was handed one of its worst losses in recent memory to No. 11 Texas 93-74.

Kentucky was able to sneak another win under its belt in the days following the loss to the Spartans, thrashing South Carolina State 106-63 on Thursday. Sunday will serve as Gonzaga’s first time back on the court since the Texas loss.

A loss would hand Gonzaga its first back-to-back losses since the 2018-19 season when the Brandon Clarke-led Bulldogs lost to Tennessee and North Carolina in December of that year.
