NASCAR drivers have had to find ways to pass the time this weekend while at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Rain has delayed both the Alsco Uniforms 300 (Xfinity Series) and the Coca-Cola 600 (Cup Series) this weekend.

On Saturday, veteran driver Kevin Harvick revealed how he and reporter Matt Yocum used to vandalize the motorhome of NASCAR legend Darrell Waltrip in these types of situations.

“When we started, it was all about having fun. … We used to toilet paper Darrell Waltrip’s motorhome,” Harvick said. “I used to go in there during these rain delays and eat his food out of his refrigerator. Myself and Matt Yocum, we would usually terrorize DW’s motorhome during any rain delay that we got.”

Hey, you’ve got to find a way to pass the time somehow, right? And if DW left his motorhome unlocked, all bets are off.

So, not only did Harvick and Yocum re-decorate the interior of Waltrip’s motorhome, they also enjoyed some snacks at the former driver’s expense. Hey, at least he didn’t have to pay for toilet paper for awhile, right?

Obviously, NASCAR drivers would prefer to be on the track racing rather than vandalizing motorhomes on race day. But you can’t always control Mother Nature … as we’ve witnessed at Charlotte this weekend.

NASCAR drivers give Kevin Harvick a taste of his own medicine

Harvick might’ve bragged about toilet papering the inside of Waltrip’s rig back in the day, but the 47-year-old got a taste of his own medicine this weekend. On Saturday, Harvick joined the team in the booth as part of a drivers’ only broadcast for the Alsco Uniforms 300.

But when the race got postponed until Monday due to inclement weather, drivers Tyler Reddick and Austin Cindric decided to have some fun of their own. They made their way to Harvick’s motorhome and toilet papered the inside.

Maybe the best part of the entire vandalization was Harvick witnessing it live on air. But, it sounds like it was nothing more than a little payback for the 47-year-old driver.

Harvick apparently did learn one lesson from himself after terrorizing DW’s motorhome earlier in his career. He didn’t leave any food inside the RV for Reddick and Cindric to munch on.

So, the NASCAR drivers couldn’t get too comfortable inside the motorhome. Still, even years later, toilet papering the inside of unattended RVs seems to still be a pretty big thing on the circuit during weather delays.
